FAQ
Why does Manifest need my App Store Connect API key?
To pull the same analytics reports you'd see in App Store Connect. We recommend a dedicated key scoped to the narrow "Sales and Reports" role, not your Account Holder key. It's encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it's stored and only decrypted in memory while talking to Apple.
Do you use AI on my data?
No. Manifest computes sums, ratios, and differences from Apple's reports. Recurring revenue is explicitly labeled as an estimate based on paid subscriber counts, observed net proceeds, and billing periods; it is not a payout forecast. "Copy for AI" only copies text to your clipboard so you can paste it into an AI chat you already use; Manifest never sends your data anywhere itself.
Can Manifest read and reply to my App Store reviews?
Yes. Manifest pulls written reviews from every storefront — not just your own country's — along with your existing replies, and checks each storefront's public star rating daily, star-only ratings included. A key with the Sales role can read reviews. To post replies from Manifest, use a key with the Customer Support or Admin role; with any other key, Manifest lets you copy a reply and paste it in App Store Connect. Replies only ever post when you press Send.
What happens if I cancel or a payment fails?
Your account falls back to Ledger, an internal restricted plan: one tracked app, the trailing 90 days, no CSV export. Nothing is deleted — the full record is retained, and upgrading anytime restores access to everything already recorded.
Why do you need a payment method just to start a free trial?
So the trial continues without interruption if you decide to keep it — you will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then from Manage billing.
My app shows "waiting on Apple" — is that a bug?
No. Apple says initial ongoing reports normally arrive within 24–48 hours. Individual metrics can take longer or be absent because of reporting thresholds. Manifest shows that honestly as "waiting on Apple" rather than a zero, since a gap in Apple's reporting is not the same thing as no activity.
How many apps can I track?
Indie tracks up to 8 apps, Studio is unlimited. You can untrack an app you don't need right now and re-track it later at no cost — untracking just doesn't free a slot for a different app, so it can't be used to work around the limit.
